BACKGROUND
Recent technical advances in high- and ultra-high-frequency ultrasound
have allowed its emergence in the field of microsurgery, mainly in terms of preoperative planning or mapping.
Mastery of the fundamentals, as well as the systematic use of ultrasound, are the pillars so that it can be used judiciously by the microsurgeon, as so many other specialties already do.
